KMH International Scouting Group is pleased to announce Ella Doherty (Powmill, Scotland) has signed a national letter of intent with the University of Toledo Women's Basketball Program for the 2021-2022 season.
Ella is a 5'10 lefty wing who is extremely versatile. She shoots it well from 3 and can get to the rim. She uses an array of different finishes around the hoop and is also a skilled passer.
Ella has participated on the Great Britain national team at the FIBA U16 European Championships in 2018 and 2019. She currently is a member of the Caledonia Pride which plays in the Women's British Basketball League (1st Division). The Caledonia Pride are the only women's professional basketball team in Scotland.
Over the last decade under head coach Tricia Cullop, Toledo has been one of the top mid major programs in the country. Under Cullop, Toledo has won multiple Mid-American Conference (MAC) regular season titles and in 2017, won the MAC tournament to earn a bid to the NCAA Tournament. They also won the 2011 Post-Season WNIT championship. Overall, Toledo has earned 6 trips to the WNIT.
